Hello- My name is Derek and I started Brightside Land because I have seen first hand just how difficult it can be to sell raw land. My mother has had over 11 acres of land in the Midwest up for sale for over two years. She still has not sold her land, despite working with numerous different real estate agents and brokers. Why does it have to take forever to sell vacant land, especially when homes across America are selling like hot cakes? The residential market is tough for buyers right now- everyone is fighting for the same few houses to call home… Inventory is tight and residential real estate is moving VERY fast at the moment. There simply isn’t enough supply to outpace demand. Surprisingly, this doesn’t seem to be the case for vacant land.
There has got to be a better way, right? That’s where I figured we would step in to serve the Southwestern US marketplace. We put our cash to work (when buying your land) and then hope to find a buyer on the back end so that we can earn a fair return. This effectively allows you to cash out your property in order to get on with your life and use the money for the things that you need now. Yes, we effectively swap places with you by waiting in line (so to speak) for the buyer so that you don’t have to. I love being able to help people solve and/or overcome their challenges.
We pride ourselves on always doing right by our sellers. We’re people too, and as the story opened with my mother, I feel it is only fitting that I share the time tested principle that she shared with me so long ago when growing up: “Treat others how you would like to be treated- with honesty, respect and attention.” You can count on us to always take the high road- we won’t use slimy sales tactics or spam your inbox or phone number.
